PURPLE CRAZY - A TRIBUTE TO WENDY

Good morning to you all, I know you will be surprised to see another challenge from us the Team over at  CD SUNDAY

This challenge is a Special one for us and it is a tribute to our former Design Team Member -
WENDY - who you will know as Crafting Purple Crazy.

Wendy stepped down from the DT last year as she was suffering with ill health and sadly she lost her fight earlier this year.

She was a lovely caring lady and a valued DT member and she had a love for all types of crafting and in particular anything using the Colour PURPLE

I knew Wendy from Facebook before she applied to be part of our Design Team and I was hoping that we could have met last year when we were travelling through France. Sadly this never happened.

We are running this challenge for 4 weeks to give the people in Blogland the chance to share their creations with us and we have fabulous prizes for one lucky entrant who will be chosen by all the Design Team.
Pop over to the challenge blog to read more about this.

This is my Tribute to Wendy

RECIPE

8 x 8" White Scalloped Card for the base.
My backing paper and main image is from one of Wendy's Favourite CD's
HOUSE MOUSE from Joanna Sheen
I used a beautiful shade of lilac/purple ribbon down the left hand side and added a few pearls for embellishments.
The main image of these cute little Mice has been matted onto a piece of Pearlised Purple Card before adding it to the main card.
My other embellishments are Marianne Dies cut using the same Pearlised Card and finally I chose to add a small handmade bow using the same ribbon with the addition of a larger Pearl Gem.

I do hope you will join in with us for this special challenge and I look forward to visiting you and leaving comments. Please remember to use something from a CD and use the colour PURPLE in your design.

This challenge will run for 4 weeks from today so you have plenty of time to join in with your own tribute to Wendy.

Click here for the current challenge of Clean and Simple which runs for another week until 19th April

I am entering my design to the following challenges

Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes
Craft-Dee BowZ - Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow

Belated Post for Clean and Simple with Jenny

A belated post from me as I have just got back home from spending the winter months out in Spain.
This is my Design Team Card for the challenge over at CD Sunday
which started last Sunday 5th April

My design is created using a 6 x 6 Scalloped White Card Blank

The CD element is from a Jems Design CD - Wish Upon a Rose
Printed onto Glossy Photo Card for effect.
My Happy Birthday Sentiment is from my stash along with a Purple Satin Ribbon.
3 Purple Gems complete the design.

I hope you will join us for this easy challenge, just remember to use something from a CD in your design and tell us which CD you have used.

Pop back on Sunday 12th April as we have another challenge for you which will run for a whole month.

A Sentiment with Carol

Good morning to you all and welcome to our latest challenge over at

Did you see the Eclipse? I am still out here in Spain for 2 more weeks and it was cloudy so we didn't see anything.

Thank you for your entries for Sue-B's challenge, not so many of you but I know Sue will have a difficult decision choosing her Top 3.

Carol has chosen your theme for the next two weeks, which is
SENTIMENT

Any Sentiment you like but please use something from a CD in your design.

This is my creation below

Again I have used a 6 x 6 White Scalloped Card Blank for the base.

The backing paper and central images are from my latest CD
 POLKADOODLES - Eden Collection.
The lovely lady sitting on the swing is a coloured image but there are also Black & White images on the CD for you to colour yourself.

I took this into Craft Artist as I have just bought a couple of Quilling Digi Kits and also one of their Digi Boss Kits.
It has been designed all in Craft Artist before printing onto Glossy Photo Paper and adding to the base card.

My Sentiment is 'Happy Birthday' and a few gems are added for dimension.

The Ribbon down the side is from my stash out here.

I hope you will join in with us, just remember to use something from a CD in your design and tell us which CD you have used.

Take a moment to visit my Team Mate's Blogs, there creations as usual are stunning.

See you in two weeks when I will be back home

I would like to enter this into the current challenge from POLKADOODLES
which is
BIRTHDAYS

Coffee Peach and Cream with Christine

Good morning to you all and a warm welcome from us the Design Team over at

As I sit preparing my scheduled post the sun is shining and it has been another lovely day. We are doing so well with the weather for the time of year.

Not quite so many entries for Carol's challenge theme of Silhouttes, in fact at one stage we were a little concerned that no one had joined in. However you proved us wrong and I know Carol will have a difficult decision in choosing her TOP 3. Pop back in two weeks to see if you are one of them.

Sadly, this week we learnt that CAZ has decided to step down from the team. I know you will join me in wishing her success and maybe she will join in from time to time. Thank you for your contributions Caz.

Onto my theme for this fortnightly challenge which is
COFFEE PEACH and CREAM
and my design is shown below

I used a Cream 8 x 8 Scalloped Card for the base
My Coffee backing paper is taken from
Debbi Moore CD - Vintage Rose Papercrafting Inspirational CD Rom
My Peach element is the lovely Satin Ribbon from my stash
I printed off a topper from the above CD and did a 'matt ' onto the backing paper.
I have decoupaged the Peach Roses to give a little dimension.
A fairly easy card to put together once I knew which CD I was going to use.
If you are like me, you have so many and often forget which you have so it was good to give this particular one an airing.

I hope you will join is with us as I personally love looking at your blogs and picking up hints and tips as to what you use. Just remember to use something from a CD in your design and tell us which you have used.

Take a few moment to check the challenge blog as my fellow team mates have stunning designs to share with you.

My next blog post will be from Sunnier Climes but I will be checking in to see what you have created.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING with JENNY

Good morning to you all and welcome to our first challenge for October from the team at

My post is scheduled as I will be having a lie in after spending the day at
The Happy Stampers Show at Port Sunlight.
I had an early start yesterday and quite a bit of driving but worth it to meet up with several of my crafting friends, some of whom I met for the first time.

Thank you for all your entries for the last challenge, it is lovely to see some many entries and some people joining in twice.
Check back in two weeks to see who Wendy has chosen as her TOP 3

Your theme for this fortnight has been chosen by JENNY and as it is getting ever nearer to Christmas you won't be surprised with her choice of theme of
CHRISTMAS IS COMING

I have done something a little different this time which you can see below

With many thanks to SAM HAMMOND DONALD and one of her Tutorials I decided to make a few cards which fit into a lovely box. Perfect for a present, not only for Christmas but you can adapt it for any sort of cards.

I used my Ooh-la-la- Creations CD - The Shawn Jenkins Collection - Christmas section to make my box, cards and also a matching card and envelope.

The box is easy to make, if you follow Sam's tutorial you will see what I mean.

My cards are blank 4 x 4 complete with envelopes

For my design, I printed off 'Merry Christmas' a few times onto 120 gsm paper which I attached to the blank cards.
My main card matches the design but I chose to print it as 'Pyramage' for effect.
The envelope is a paper from the same section on the CD and made using my Stampin Up Envelope Board. This is a worth while investment as I am using it a lot now. You can google the uses for the board and you will be surprised how many different sizes of envelopes and other things you can do with it.
To wrap round my box I used the same paper as my large envelope and added a Red Satin Bow.
I am getting quite good with bow tying now

I look forward to seeing your designs, visiting and leaving comments on your blogs

Take a moment to check out the rest of the teams designs, you won't be disapointed.

Get Well with SUE-B

Good morning to you all and welcome to our latest challenge from us at
This is the last bank holiday for the year and I hope you are enjoying an extended break although as usual the weather is not being kind. It is a sunny here as I type this post but no doubt it will change as the day progresses.
Thanks for your entries in the last challenge, not so many of you but Jocelyn will be choosing her Top 3 and they will be announced shortly.
This week it is the turn of SUE-B and I think she has chosen an easy theme for you.
Sue's choice is 'GET WELL'
We all need this sort of card at times so it is good to have one already prepared.

My DT Design is shown below

RECIPE

6 x 6 Scalloped White Card for the base.
The edges are covered with Pan Pastel Orange Tint
My backing paper is from one of Bearly Mine CD's - Designer Extremes Vol 1
Using the Orange Section, quite a change for me and I embossed a small piece to go along the middle using a new embossing folder from Cuttlebug - Geometric Rings
I used a Timeless Rectangle Die Cut to stamp my image of
Nasturtium's, a PSX Stamp I have had for a long time.
The image has been coloured using Spectrum Noir Pencils
 Florals No's 6, 7 & 8 and Nature No's 57 & 59
Glamour Dust to added a bit of sparkle on the flowers
A Satin ribbon and Card Candi completes my design.

I look forward to seeing your creations for our challenge, just remember to use something from a CD in your design and tell us which CD you have used

Do take a moment to visit our blog as my fellow team members have some beautiful work to show you. Plus you may even pick up a new CD to add to your collection

Food Glorious Food with Wynn

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather and getting time to sit in the garden. It is certainly too warm for crafting during the day.

Not so many entries in our last challenge but I guess a lot of you are on holiday. I will be choosing my Top 3 later in the week and Jenny will post my choices in our next challenge which is in 2 weeks time

This week at CD SUNDAY  it s Wynn's turn to choose.

Her choice is 'FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD'

My contribution is shown below

My usual 6 x 6 Scalloped Card for the base.
Both of the backing papers and Twisted Pyramage image is from
Cottonball Capers CD which I think is from Doolicrafts but no longer available.

I added a fancy die cut mat behind the image, it is a Die called
Quatrefoil Pattern and is a good one to have in your collection.

For a little dimension I added a satin ribbon bow in brown which has been recycled from a pair of trousers and a small Gold Pearl to the middle of the bow.

The team have all done something different so do pop over to the blog to see their designs.

Just remember to use something from a CD in your design and let us know which CD you have used.

I look forward to visiting you and leaving comments

CD SUNDAY CHALLENGE

Good morning fellow bloggers and welcome to this weeks challenge over at

We loved seeing your Halloween entries last week, not quite so many so I guess a few of you are like me and not 'into' Halloween. It is good to work outside our 'comfort' zone from time to time.

Sadly this is PAMELA's last week with us as Guest Designer. She has made fabulous creations each week and we will miss her, however, I am sure she will persuaded to come back in the New Year. Thankyou Pamela, you have been an inspiration to everyone.

Now for this week's challenge which is
PUSS CAT
My contribution for this week is shown below

A4 Card from my stash
Backing Paper & Images taken from - IVORY CATS CD1 - Joanna Sheen
Martha Stewart Deep Edge Ribbon Punch
Dark Green Satin Ribbon from my Ribbon Box threaded through the Punch and also attached to the top of the card for contrast.
Gold Card Candi.

We look forward to seeing and commenting on your entries again this week, this is the best part of being on the DT.
