SIMPLY SQUARE AT CD SUNDAY

Good morning to you all, I am hoping that Blogger behaves as my post this week is scheduled.

Another week, so another challenge from us at CD SUNDAY

I will be on my way to warmer climes for the Winter from today and I won't be able to check the post until later this evening.
Thanks for all your entries in our challenge last week, not so many of you but I have enjoyed visiting and leaving comments on your blogs.

This week it is Jenny's turn to choose and I know this will suit you all.
Jenny has chosen
SIMPLY SQUARE
so dig out those CD's and join in with us.

My DT Card is below

RECIPE

Cream Square card for the base.
The backing paper and this beautiful image is from one of my new CD's
Debbi Moore - Shabby Chic Vintage Rose Papercrafting Inspirational CD.
The image has been printed onto Matte Photo Paper.
I decided to use something that has been sitting on my desk for a while to put under the topper.
This is black card to which I embossed using Perfect Medium and one of the lovely masks from
Ali Reeve - which is a Vine design. I covered the embossing with Mica powders for detail.
I finished off the design with a 'hand made' bow, not something I am good at but decided it was time I practiced.

I hope you will join in with us again, just remember to use something from a CD in your design and tell us which CD you have used.

Take a moment to visit my fellow teamie's blog as they have beautiful creations to share with you.
I am also pleased to say that Wendy is back with us once more.

CD SUNDAY CHALLENGE

Good morning all my fellow bloggers, Sunday is here again which means time for our latest challenge over at CD SUNDAY
Thanks for all your entries in last week's challenge, quite a few of you submitted your entries very early which for us is lovely to see.
We are joined again this week by Chris - our Guest Designer for July and she has done us proud yet again, do pop over to her blog and leave comments.

Our chosen theme this week is
DREAM and my DT card is shown below.

I chose one of the many beautiful images from Joanna Sheen's Enchanted Dreams CD.
This is a CD you can look at over and over and realise you how much you first miss when using it.
The image and backing paper is from the 'Flight Section' of the CD and the image is printed onto Glossy Photo Paper, cut and matted onto a toning piece of blue card.
I attached the backing paper to a Navy A5 Landscape Card, rounding the corners with an XCut corner punch. Before adding the image I chose a piece of beautiful organza ribbon to wrap round the base card.
Petaloo flowers from my stash compliment the design and for a final finishing touch, Silver peel offs, Live, Love Dream have been added to the side.

We hope you will join us and share your 'DREAM', all we ask is that you use something from a CD in your design and say which it is you have used.

Do pop over to see the rest of my teamies creations this week, gorgeous as usual.

CD SUNDAY CHALLENGE

Good morning to all my fellow blogging friends, I hope you are enjoying the last Bank Holiday break for a while.
Time for our latest challenge over at
CD SUNDAY
which is
'SAY IT WITH SCALLOPS'
Sadly this is the last week for JEN as our GDT, she has done us proud with her cards and we hope to persuade her to return later in the year.
My DT Card is below

RECIPE

8 X 8 Scalloped Card Blank
Backing paper and the design in the centre are from - Flower Flies & Flutter Bugs CD
I have just got this fabulous CD from my friend Debs and if you click on the CD link it will take you to her online shop.
I cut another of the beautiful backing papers with my Grand Nesties Scalloped Circles and then used one of the toppers from the same CD.
A little Glamour Dust has been added to the centre flower for a bit of sparkle.
Burgundy Organaza Ribbon has been attached down the side and for my bow I used my latest present, a Bowmaker from my Sister. I am always complaining that I can't tie bows, so now my problem is solved.
A few Gems finish the card.

We hope you will join us again this week, all we ask is that you use something from a CD in your design and say which CD you have used.
Do pop over to see what beautiful designs the rest of my Teamies have made this week.

CD SUNDAY CHALLENGE - ELEGANT LADIES

The challenge over on CD SUNDAY
this week is ELEGANT LADIES

For my DT card this week I chose a lovely image from DEBBI MOORE called GLITTER & GLITZ - MAGIC MOMENTS CD

To my base card I added diagonal stripes of paper from the CD, attaching Organaza Ribbon along the edges.
My image has been printed onto Vellum and attached with brads to the card.
I chose a Hydrangea flower from my stash to the top corner and a sentiment from the CD on the bottom corner.

Please pop over to CD SUNDAY to see the cards from the other DT Members.

Look forward to seeing your creations this week

TIO 10 'Say it with Flowers'

Memo to self - don't leave this challenge until the last minute.
Well here it is, my TIO Challenge 10 for Frankie
This lovely lady sets a challenge every Wednesday so do pop over to her Blog and see her beautiful works of art.
For my entry this week is used a tag, obviously, distressed it using Weathered Wood, Broken China & Faded Jeans inks from Tim Holtz. I stamped using Versafine Majestic Blue onto a stamp from Elusive Images - A thing of Beauty set.
Finishing touches were a little glitter and Organza ribbon.
Hope Frankie likes my Tag.

Penny Black Challenge - Recipe 3,2,1

Here is my card I made for the Penny Black Challenge this week.
The challenge was to follow a 'Recipe' using 3 Brads, 2 Ribbons, 1 Flower plus a Penny Black Image.
I stamped with Versafine then coloured the image with Lyra Crayons. 3 Brads were added to the large Flowerpot, this was layered onto a card which I had put through my Cuttlebug Machine using Swiss Dots Embossing Folder then attached to another strip of card, again using my Cuttlebug. The whole image I then mounted onto my card base which I had covered using Papermania Creative Tones - Equisite Paper. A large Pink Bow was attched to the top of the card with a smaller bow at the bottom of the image. As the final ingredient, a fabric flower has been attached to the bottom of my card. I decided to add peel-offs at the side of the image as I thought the hedgehogs were playing Hide & Seek.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge

The challenge for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge is called 'RECYCLE'. The image is one I saved from a birthday card received last year and liked it so much that I couldn't bear to throw it away. I knew that I would make it into another card eventually, so this is the result. The base card is A6 using Navy cardstock from my stash, then I used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Folder to emboss onto Aqua Pearlised card. To complement the colours a Burgandy Organza was wrapped around the card before attaching with 3D Foam Pads the 'Recycled' Image. I am really pleased with how it has turned out.

Recycled Card & Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Folder

The design on this card has been sitting on mydesk for a few days saying

'Recycle Me'

This is the end result. I mounted the image onto a piece of Aqua Card which I had put through my Cuttlebug using Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. To make the image stand out I then attached a piece of Burgandy Organza Ribbon behind the image, then the whole piece was put onto Navy Blue Card.

I am pleased with the end result and it just goes to show, us crafters don't throw anything away.

Thanks for looking, Christine

Boxing Day 26th December 2008

Hello and a Happy Boxing Day to all my fellow bloggers.

We are having a lazy day today and catching up with things we have on Sky+.
My sister and her family have just called for a coffee before going onto a family gathering on my Brother-in-law's side.
I have been shown by my Nephew how to sell some of my craft stash on Ebay, only listed one item so far as trial.
I have decided for the New Year I really must have a good sort through of my stash and find good homes for it all, well that is the plan!!
I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas Day and are having a good Boxing Day.
You my notice that I have updated my photo, thought it was about time lol
I am so pleased that I have received lovely comments on what I have achieved so far, this wouldn't have been possible with the help of my Special friend Lorraine.
I have now posted the card I made for my sister and family, hope you like it

Off to get lunch now, then try to set up a Playlist with the help of Wendy (pixiehouse)

Hugs
Christine
