THE 1950'S

Good morning to you all and welcome to another challenge from the team over at
I am hoping my scheduled post work's as I am staying with my fellow Team Buddy, Beryl this weekend.

Sadly this is ANNE's last week as our Guest Designer, we have loved seeing your beautiful designs Anne and a big thank you from me for supporting us this month. I hope you will pay a visit to see what Anne has in store for you this week.

This week it is CAROL's turn to choose and she has chosen
THE 1950'S

I have to admit to struggling a little with this theme this week, maybe it's because I was growing up in those years and was only 13 when the era ended.

However my DT Card is shown below

RECIPE

My favourite 6 x 6 Scalloped Card for the base.
The backing paper is from a pad by Papermania - Creative Tones Ivory Black.
I have a good selection of this sort of paper pad, almost all the colours they made.
For my main image, I chose to go to Joanna Sheen - Hollywood CD.
Most of the images on this CD are Vintage and it was good to keep to a black, silver and white theme. Something I don't tend to do.
I attached the image to a matt of Silver Mirri before attaching it to one of my latest Spellbinder Dies Decorative Labels Twenty Two.
The die is cut out using Centura Pearl, Snow White,  Hint of Silver Card.
A couple of flourishes from my Cheery Lyn Designs die - B117 Fanciful Flourish, some narrow Black ribbon down the side and a few black Gems finish my design.

I look forward to seeing how you interprete THE 1950's and will be leaving comments on your blogs, just remember to use something in your design from a CD and say which it is you have used.

Do take a minute to visit our blog as my fellow team members all have something different.
Unfortunately Wendy is absent as she is not feeling well, so 'Get Well' soon Wendy, we miss you.

Snap! I see we chose the same image but have made quite different cards :-). The picture is one of my favourites from that era. I was born in 55 so too young to remember it personally!

Great choice to go monochrome. Much find that CD. Marina

This is such an iconic image - I think everyone older than a teenage would know who she is. The bp, flourishes and fancy labels mat set it off beautifully.
