CD SUNDAY CHALLENGE

Hello and welcome to the latest challenge over at CD SUNDAY

My DT card is a little late this week as I was getting ready to take the Caravan and our MX5 to Blyton for Colin to do a MX5 Track Day.
Anyway as promised, I finally finished my card this morning and you can see it below
Our theme for this week is - SEASIDE TREASURES and we hope you will join us and show your take on the theme.

I had a CD in mind for this challenge and like most of my teamies I chose
Faye Whittaker Collection CD from Joanna Sheen. it is a lovely CD with different themes to choose from. My scene is from the 'At the Beach' section, some gorgeous images to choose from.
I used Craft Art Professional to make my design and had such fun learning new techniques, ie Cut out the image.
It has been layered onto one of the backing papers from the same section and I added a sentiment, again a first for me.
I had printed a backing paper of shells from Debbie Moore CD - Vintage Travel which I cut out and 3D them to the card.
I have been playing with Alcohol Inks, Acetate & Tissue Paper last week so decided it was perfect for the main background which is attached to an A5 Card. A little Card Candi - Bahamas Collection adds my finishing touch

I hope you will join in with us again especially as we have not only a new Permanent Team Member - Sue but also a talented Guest Designer - Claire for the month of July.
Do pop over and see their gorgeous creations, you won't be disapointed.

Remember all you have to do to join in is, use something from a CD in your design and say which CD you have used. The rest is up to you

Hubby's Birthday Card

It is my Hubby's Birthday today so I thought I would share with my blogging friends the card I made him.
He is awkward to make cards for as his love is trains and I don't have anything with trains, however he is a keen birdwatcher and like me, loves Owls.

The base of his card consists of Heat Resistant Acetate to which I added Alcohol Inks in shades, Caramel & Meadow. I overstamped with one of my Swirl stamps using Archival Coffee, then rubbed the ink off to reveal a clear image. This is a technique I was shown at Sheena's class In Kettering recently.
The Owl image is from a Joanna Sheen CD - The Jayne Netley Mayhew Collection which I printed onto Gloss Photo Paper.
Using my leaves stamps from Creative Impressions, I stamped, then coloured using Promarkers. These were carefully cut out and added to the image using 3D Foam.
Brads were used to attach the acetate to the card.

His comment, I wish I could see that particular owl. At least he commented which is more than he usually does when I make anything.
