TIO CHALLENGE 36

This week sees Frankie's TIO BLOGAVERSARY.
Her challenge this week is to make a 'DISTRESS' tag.

For my tag I used Distressed Inks, Tea Dye, Shabby Shutters, Dried Marigold, blending the colours as I went.
The stamps are a mixture of Personal Impressions & Elusive Images. I stamped using a mixture of Spiced Marmalade and Shabby Shutters.
These colours are an unusual choice for me as I tend to use Pinks & Purples, however I am pleased with the way it turned out.
My organza ribbon has been coloured using Spiced Marmalade & Shabby Shutters, this is the first for me.

Frankie is offering Blog Candy until the end of May, so anyone who takes part in her challenges for the next few weeks will be in with a chance of winning.

I am thriled that she is back crafting and once again setting us weekly TIO challenges.

Hubby's Birthday Card

It is my Hubby's Birthday today so I thought I would share with my blogging friends the card I made him.
He is awkward to make cards for as his love is trains and I don't have anything with trains, however he is a keen birdwatcher and like me, loves Owls.

The base of his card consists of Heat Resistant Acetate to which I added Alcohol Inks in shades, Caramel & Meadow. I overstamped with one of my Swirl stamps using Archival Coffee, then rubbed the ink off to reveal a clear image. This is a technique I was shown at Sheena's class In Kettering recently.
The Owl image is from a Joanna Sheen CD - The Jayne Netley Mayhew Collection which I printed onto Gloss Photo Paper.
Using my leaves stamps from Creative Impressions, I stamped, then coloured using Promarkers. These were carefully cut out and added to the image using 3D Foam.
Brads were used to attach the acetate to the card.

His comment, I wish I could see that particular owl. At least he commented which is more than he usually does when I make anything.

CD SUNDAY CHALLENGE 3

Today sees challenge number 3 over on CD SUNDAY

The theme is 'BABY TALK' and this is my DT card, which I have called 'ROCK-A-BYE-BABY'

RECIPE:

Card base from my stash
Backing Paper and Image from Cardmakers Year CD from Joanna Sheen
Spellbinder Pendant Die - Fleur-de-Lis which I covered with Caramel & Meadow Alcohol Inks

This was a challenge for me as I wouldn't normally do 'Baby', however I am pleased with the end result, especially the colours of my Pendant, unfortunately the scan does not it justice.

Pop over to see the other DT's cards, all of which are lovely.
Hope you can join us this week, we look forward to seeing your designs and leaving comments on your blogs
